For grades 3-5, our science and technology program we utilizes the Amplify Science curriculum, which is designed to immerse students in hands-on investigations and real-world problem-solving. This curriculum aligns with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DESE) standards, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience, and offering a deeper exploration of scientific concepts and technological skills. The Amplify Science curriculum continues to guide students through complex scientific inquiries.
Science Curriculum Highlights:

  • In-Depth Scientific Exploration: Students engage in more sophisticated scientific questions, using evidence to develop and support their claims. This approach fosters advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Digital Simulations: The curriculum includes digital tools and simulations that allow students to explore scientific phenomena virtually, enhancing their understanding of complex concepts.
  • Real-World Problem Solving: Students take on roles as scientists and engineers to investigate and solve real-world problems, preparing them for future STEM challenges.

Technology Integration:

  • STEM Lab Specials: Students participate in STEM lab sessions twice a week for half of the year, collaborating on real-world challenges and designing innovative solutions.
  • Advanced Tynker Curriculum: For the remaining half of the year, students engage in computer specials, advancing their coding skills and digital fluency through the Tynker curriculum, which teaches computational thinking and core computer science concepts.

Our K-5 programs are designed to inspire a lifelong passion for science and technology, equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.
